CUTTING & BURNING

A 32-hour course designed with a great deal of hands-on applications and safety techniques used to cut metals of varying gauge thicknesses with oxy-acetylene torch systems. It is essential to understand the safety considerations for setting up torch-cutting operations using compressed gas cylinders, including checking for leaks in connections and selecting the proper tip size by referring to reference tables provided by the fuel gas distributors. There is an emphasis on metal coatings and their propensity to cause undesirable health effects to exposed workers from the torch-cutting emissions.
