CUTTING & BURNING

A 32-hour course designed with a great deal of hands-on applications and safety techniques used to cut metals of varying gauge thicknesses with oxy-acetylene torch systems. It is essential that one knows the safety considerations of setting up the torch-cutting operations using compressed gas cylinders, checking for leaks with the connections, and distinguishing the proper tip size through reading reference tables provided by the fuel gas distributors. There is an emphasis on metal coatings and their propensity to cause undesirable health effects to exposed workers from the torch-cutting emissions.
